"I met Sam when he came to Connecticut to judge print competition and speak at our state convention.  During competition I was struck by his photographic knowledge and his ability to convey his thoughts in a clear and productive manner.  He was able to critique images with constructive comments indicating a strong understanding of photography and light.

Later on in the convention, I had the pleasure of attending his seminar.  I was thrilled to finally hear an artist in the field who could also teach.  Being a certified teacher, I am constantly frustrated by the presenters in the industry who talk rather then teach.  Not only was Sam’s seminar interesting, it was presented in a manner that the audience was able to receive and retain the information.  He engaged us with activities and questions.  I left with the ability to remember and use the things I learned.
